How to avoid roaches in your home
Roaches are house hunters so don't invite them in through your grocery bags, and empty storage boxes. Their eggs may have already been nesting in these items. They also provide hiding spaces as living quarters for adult Roaches.Conduct a thorough investigation around your home looking for gaps in doors, and pipes under the sinks etc. Roaches can shimmy under very tight areas. Roaches are also attracted to empty pizza boxes left standing, stacks of news papers, and clutter.
They love dark, warm and moist places so these conditions are ideal. Make sure there is no standing water in planters for them to drink from, dirty dishes in the sink or food left open on the counters.
If your garbage can is under the kitchen sink, keep this area as clean and organized as possible.
Keeping Roaches from our living area is important since they carry so many germs. Roaches eat garbage and waist therefore they have been known to spread Salmonella and E. Coli. and can irritate allergies and asthma in adults and children.
